Privacy Policy for Do It Mate
Last updated: 30 September 2026
Do It Mate ("the app") helps small groups keep each other to their goals. This policy says what the app collects, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.
What we collect
- Account. Your email address and password if you create an account (the password is handled by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text), or nothing at all if you use a guest account. Your display name. Optionally a profile photo and a payment link, which is a web address you choose to share so friends know where to send what you are owed.
- What you create in the app. Goals, check-ins, optional proof photos and notes, comments, group chat messages, and the record of penalties and payments between group members.
- Notifications. A push-notification token for your device and its platform, so the app can send reminders and group activity. You can turn reminders off in the app (You, then Reminders) or in your phone's settings.
- Timezone. Your device's timezone, so deadlines and the weekly recap follow your own day.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to Do It Mate Pro, Google Play takes the payment. We receive a purchase token and confirm it with Google to switch Pro on. We never see your card details.
- Usage and diagnostics. Basic events (for example, opening a screen or checking in), the app version and crash information, linked to your account, to fix problems and see what works.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, an advertising identifier or payment card details.
Who can see what
- Your groups. Members of a group you join can see your name, photo, goals, check-ins, proof photos, chat messages and balances in that group. Public challenges are groups anyone can join, so what you add there is visible to the people taking part.
- Nobody else. There is no public feed and no way to browse other people's data.
- Service providers. We use Supabase (database, authentication, file storage and server functions), Expo (delivery of push notifications) and Google Play (billing). They handle data only to provide those services.
- We do not sell your data and the app shows no ads.
Money
Do It Mate keeps a record of penalties that friends agree between themselves. It does not process, hold or transfer money. Payments happen outside the app.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app: You, then Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, goals, check-ins, proof photos, chat messages and any balances you owe or are owed. Groups you created are handed over to another member; a group where you are the only member is deleted. A guest account is deleted when you sign out.
If you can no longer open the app (for example, you uninstalled it), contact us using the details under Contact below and we will delete your account and its data on request.
Children
Do It Mate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
